I never go out and do anything because I have no friends in the area?

I'd like to go out and do things but I really don't like to go to nice restaurants or the movies or other things like that alone. That would only compound my loneliness and make me feel worse. My interests are video games, computers, the internet, anime, manga, rock music. How can I find people to hang out with? I live in the south and everyone around me just likes camping and country music...
