Is it possible to break up oxide compounds on the surface of the moon to produce oxygen?

We know that the Chandrayan probe proved presence of water on the surface of the moon. And also we know that surface of the moon contains compounds which are various kinds of oxides. That means, presence of oxygen in those compounds there. Is it possible to produce large scale oxygen on the surface of the moon by using chemical process from those oxide compounds? And is it possible to use this oxygen in bio-spheres to be built by the scientists?
