How to get rid of a wart?

there is this spot on my leg where i have had this wart. I tries Compound W when i first got it and it didn't work at all. I then went to the Dermatologist and she used liquid nitrogen to freeze it off. After a year it came back. once again i went to the Dr.'s and she froze it off once again. Now it is coming back again. I really don't want to go back to the dermatologist. Is there any Meds or home remedies out there that will work against these warts that just won't fully leave, and if not the Dermatologist said that she would maybe have to try and burn it off with acid. Is this painful and what is the procedure
