You should look into West Systems for resins and epoxies and also construction techniques. I would also suggest buying a set of plans. These show you how to loft the design into the required pieces or shapes. I did have a friend that built his own boat and actually made many of the curved pieces by steaming them and slowly bending them. They can also be made up of more then one piece scarfed together making the curve. The hull itself is drawn in such a way that when you transfer the flat drawing onto a pattern you can then take that piece and when you attach it to the frames it forms the correct hull shape.
