What do i do, pleas help,its important!!!!!!!!!!!?

ok this is going to be a bit long. so i am a 17 year old and used to fighting and win most fights but recently this 16 year old felt intimidated bye me and hit me over the head with a baseball bat and while blood was oozing from my head i chased him and he run away btw i had to get stiches. i was ready to kill him tommorow so i waited outside his house for several hours but turnes out his father contacted my uncle which turnes out are really good freinds. i asked my uncle for advice and he told me not to go through with it becouse the guy who hit me was so scared he wouldent get out of his house, i cant let it end like this but i am afraide that my uncle would be disapointed with me. so please tell me guys should i beat him up ore not. i have a reputation to keep and i cant ley a guy hit me in the head with a basball bat and let him get away with it.
