Atheists, can you prove consciousness ceases to exist after death?

No I can't but conversely no one can prove that consciousness continues after death..... Do you not understand that it is up to the person makign the assertation to offer proof? Therefore it is up to the people assertaining that we continue to offer proof of such. I could just as easily claim purple unicorns live under my bed that become invisible when anyone except me looks at them.... now I leave it up to you to prove that that isn't true and since you can not prove it isn't true, by your reasoning, it must BE true.
