Is it safe to place a car on 4 jack stands?
I will be removing all 4 brake calipers on my car so that I can clean them and paint them using caliper epoxy paint. I must remove all 4 at once because the epoxy (G2) only allows me 6 hours to apply it. My question is whether or not it would be safer to jack up the car (using a floor jack), one end at a time, and place 2 sets of jack stands underneath? This option, frankly, scares me. The other option is to jack up the front, for example, remove the calipers, replace the wheel, lower the car, and then chock the wheels. Then i could lift the rear and put jack stands under it, knowing that at least 2 wheels are on the ground. The car has an automatic transmission and is AWD.
