Is a chipped floating betta log safe?
I just got a Zoo Med floating betta log today. I noticed some sharp edges so I began to file it. I noticed in some areas the foam core became exposed. The exposed areas have strong chemical odor. Perhaps epoxy glue or whatever they use. Would reputable companies such as Zoo Med use a toxic chemical on the inside of the product without considering paint chipping off and other breakage? My betta Sashimi is obsessed with the log and there is nothing else like it on the market. Has anyone owned this floating betta log and did it ever chip/break? Did your fish get sick?
