To get the right board, you should go to a local surf shop. Talk to the people there about getting the right board for your weight, ability, and the conditions that you will be surfing in. They are trained and will get you the right board so you won't waste any money getting the wrong one. Almost all surf shops sell used boards also, so you don't have to worry about putting down a lot of money on a new board and damaging it.
